HA02044 Burnt thatched roof, Bondgate, 1895

The image shows the badly burnt thatched roof of a cottage on Bondgate before the chimney collapsed.
The damage occurred when the roof was accidentally set on fire by a red hot poker being used to burn out a wasps’ nest in the thatch.
